Subject have included WWII’s ‘comfort women’, Stalin’s Great Terror, torture in Iran, the Mumbai attacks, Rana Plaza building collapse, Japan’s Death Row, Nazi war criminals, space diving, blind sprinting and more.

    The programme that follows global artists as they create their next work. For this documentary, I followed RSC director Erica Whyman, playwright Lolita Chakrabarti, and the cast and crew of “Hamnet” as they rehearsed a stage adaptation of Maggie O’Farrrell’s award-winning novel.

    Analysis examines the ideas and forces which shape public policy in Britain and abroad. For this series, I’ve made documentaries on the regeneration of towns, mental health in the workplace, domestic violence, race relations, and the experience of childbirth.

  • The End of Coming Out?

    I secured a commission for this documentary in which screenwriter Dustin Lance Black explored how “coming out” has changed over the decades, and whether it’s still necessary for LGBTQ+ people today. The programme was a Finalist in the Best Documentary category at the New York Festival Radio Awards 2021. It was also promoted on the BBC homepage and selected for the BBC’s curated podcast feed “Seriously…”

    In this three-part series, former teacher Alex Beard speculated on the ideas that could shape education in the distant future. I co-produced the series, sourcing case studies from around the world and securing interviews with leading thinkers such as Yuval Noah Harari.

    I made four episodes of this series in which well-known environmental campaigners reflected on their green heroes. These included Caroline Lucas on German politician Petra Kelly, Gillian Burke on Kenyan activist Wangari Maathai, Vandana Shiva on Indian environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, and Peter Gibbs on British scientist Joe Farman.

    My programmes for this award-winning series have reunited people caught up in political scandals. One edition brought together parents and hospital staff affected by the devastating organ retention scandal at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Another focused on the “poisoned umbrella” assassination of Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov in 1978. The Times described the latter as “informed and illuminating”.

  • My Name is Sammy

    I worked with first-time presenter, Dr Samantha Batt-Rawden, to tell her personal story of being a junior doctor who was thinking of leaving the NHS due to extreme workplace pressures. The documentary featured robust interviews with the GMC, BMA and NHS Trusts as Sammy sought solutions to stem the exodus of NHS professionals.

  • Radio 1 Stories: Bad Housemates

    For Radio 1’s documentary slot, I made a series of packages about people’s worst experiences of living with housemates. These first-person stories covered challenging topics such as racism on campus, self-harm, and mental health issues, and included advice to young people dealing with similar situations.
